Ok, don't tell anyone but I actually bought that Nikon stuff I posted here a while back when I was debating it. Wow, and it has saved my butt too since my Canon gear got jealous and started to quit working. First my 550EX doesn't flash and then my EOS3 shutter goes out. What next? Um, maybe I shouldn't of asked that.

Anyhow I'm trying to find my serial number on the Nikon ED Nikkor 28-70 lens and I can't find it anywhere. Is it located on the inner dwellings or what? And before you ask, my friend who I bought the stuff off doesn't have the warranty cards or serial either.

Oh one more thing, can anyone suggest a repair shop to send this lens to. I was in an accident this past Saturday and apparently the rear end hit caused my equipment to substain some damage. The lens doesn't auto focus.

on my Nikon 28-70 AF-S 2.8 D ED Lens, the serial number is located near the bottom.
If you go to where the "little" f-stop numnbers are, and then rotate the lens clockwise about 2 inches, you will see the numbers in black, etched into the casing. There is a little break in the perforated ridges that outline the bottom area I'm referring to. My number starts with US then the number.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
