I have agreed to photograph the wedding of one of my wifes coworkers (at cost). The problem I have is that she is a larger gal and her fiance is much shorter and skinnier than she is. I am trying to figure out the most flattering way to pose them. Please help.

Oh man you're in a heapotrouble. LOL Just teasin' ya. I just hope each day I don't get that combination from those that call for a wedding consultation. I would suggest maybe shooting him straight on with her turned to the side, almost giving the viewer a profile of the bride's body while making the groom appear wider than her. Also keep in mind that wedding dresses slim the bride usually, so it may not be as bad as you think. As for height issues, that's a hard one. Only thing I can think of is to have her sitting while he's standing so it's not so obvious.

Barb is right. If possible, have her sitting and turned at a 45 degree angle or so, and him standing behind her. Also, you might want to shoot dramatic lighting, using shadows in your favor. It's amazing what you can do with LESS light or properly placed shadows on heavier people. Another option is bride and groom sitting on the grass, maybe resting on their elbows looking at each other. You don't have to get their entire bodies, keep that in mind. You could just get the close-up on the grass. There are a lot of things like that you could try. For ideas you might want to try www.zuga.net. There are some top-notch wedding photographers there. Best wishes. Been there, done that!

Good day!
