How come I never herd anyone say that you have to train at the gym just to handle that thing. Do most people use a tripod or monopod with that lens ?

Heh...Whatsa matter, can't one-hand your now-nine-pound camera?

I haven't used mine on a pod yet, but haven't had occasion to, either. I keep the pod ring on it, and loosely snug (if that makes sense) to use as a palm rest/finger hook. If I get tired, or I'm packing it around at the ready all day, I have one of those super cheapo table top pods with the flexible legs...Makes a handy shorty handle, and I can still run the zoom with my thumb.

Cheers!

I know how you feel. I was wiped out after a day with a 500mm f4 lens. The thing is no less than 16 inches long and weighs about 6 pounds. Now I primarily use the 70-200mm f2.8 and am so used to shooting with it that I don't use a pod of any kind unless I really want super stability or am shooting slow shutter speeds. Fun, fun! Good day!

Now that I have a website in design I will post my work with this new lens. So far I think it's an awesome piece of glass. It's funny, Just like cops Models are never around when you need one. I guess I will check out the sushi bar, I always find a model or two around there..LOL
