I need a filmscanner pronto. Choices are the new Nikon 9000D (which I have to wait a couple of weeks for) or the Minolta multi-format scanner. By the numbers they sure seem similar. One unusual bit is that for a few months I'm going to need to use it with my Powerbook, which I don't know will make any difference (laptop LCD notwithstanding, I might be able to wrangle a monitor sometimes).

Anybody have any experience with the Minolta's? I have limited experience with the last generation of Nikons, and here I am stuck making a decision about equipment I have little or no personal experience with.

Any experience or insight would be helpful.

I recommend it to anyone who's comparing scanners. Don't 100% agree with everything he says (he's reviewing stuff for his own use, some things he values others won't etc.) but it's all straight from the heart and experience of one artist, and a highly knowledgable one at that.

Thanks.
