Catalogging, storing, and archiving images...
I assume there is software out there to assist in this tedius process. Can anyone reccomend the best program to do this or does photoshop 7.0 or CS have built in functions that are good enough?
I'm looking for soemthing to help me organize and better yet help me backup files. I may already have the software I have but I either tool lazy or too busy to fully RTFM all the stuff i have laying around (take your pick) :lol: My hard drive is begining to resemble my desk and that is not good. I've taken over 12,000 pictures in the last 6 months and this organizing task is becoming extremely daunting. I imagine what I should start gettnig in the habit of is storing all the "good" images in a "portfolio" folder under models names and then just deleting the rest. I have been backing up everything (for some unkown reason) and so now have stacks of CD's full of garbage images. Idealy (along with catalogging software) is there some software I can use to backup just the images that are new or have changed since my last backup from a specified folder of "good" images so I can just run periodic backups? Anyone have any other suggestions for how to deal with all these files? 'm also considering scanning all the old film lying around the house and catalogging that so it's really going to get messy.
Another peice of software I'm wondering about... anybody know of anything I can use to take my newly scanned image files, put them on DVD and make a slide show that would be playable on a conventional dvd player on a TV? Maybe throw in some music and menus stuff like that would be a plus but not neccessary?
