Sigma EF-500 DG Super Flash

I just did a shoot today and I had to use my Sigma EF-500 flash and the results are in, that flash ROCKS!!!!!

I used the flash in fill-flash mode and also as the main light source and it performed flawlessly in all circumstances. I shot on camera and also with a Stroboframe and the Canon Remote Cord and everything worked as advertised.

I should mention that I shoot with Canon (EOS 20D to be precise) and the many flash failures to launch was just one of the many reasons why I got away from Nikon. I just got so tired of being on a sinking ship and I am so glad to be on the winning team for a change.

Nikon has had digital cameras out for what, 10 years now and they still can't get their flash algorithms right and it drove me crazy. I used to shoot with an SB-26 on Manual mode and just pray that I would get it right and do a lot of correcting in Photoshop for what I got wrong, which was a lot.

I don't know what Canon has done but they certainly did it right with the way their flashes work. Now if only their "L" lenses weren't so cotton pickin' expensive (Canon are you listening??)

I got that flash a few weeks ago, and am very pleased with it so far.
I shoot a 20D also, and I'm still learning how to use all the features of the flash;
Can't say that I'm sold on Canon's ETTL yet though, but it's probably just me.

Yeah, I've done several shoots with my Nikon D2X with the Nikon SB-800 and it's worked flawlessly. Hit every single shot, with an average of 200 images per shoot, and didn't even have to change batteries at that.
