Requesting image samples with manual WB using Warmcards.
When you post, can you please include details such as strength of the Warmcard (1/2, 1, 2, 3), direction of sun if outdoors, approx time of day and any supplemental lighting used (reflectors, fill-flash, etc).
Thanks in advance.

Here are two shots of Renee and a 3rd shot of warm card used.

The left shot is with camera set at 5800K. Then I shot the warm card #2. Then I changed the camera to Custom White Balance using the warm card shot as the reference. Photo on right is the resulting change in color balance. These shots were shot in sequence with no frames in between.

By the way, I was borrowing the warm cards at the time. I have since continued to play with them and even made my own which work quite well. I print a new set when ever the old set gets wrinkled, or torn, etc. Here is a photo of 4 of them before cutting apart.

One of them is a green card for fluorescent lighting.

Cheers,
rfs

Hey,

Never heard of this. If we were to print out the cards ourselves like you. What RGB values did you use for each square card?

Tony

Actually I used CYMK values for building mine. Here is a screen shot that shows the values:

Hey R_Fredrick_Smith,

Thanks for the reply and sample. But, this raises another question. Why do you use CYMK values and not RGB or sRGB values?

Edit: And how do you know which one to use and when?

Thanks,
Tony

I think I used cmyk values because to get the values to start with I had searched the Internet and found some link to a forum post somewhere and they were in cymk and so just used what I found. It makes no difference in the ultimate color you get however. Here is a screen shot that shows where you choose the values:

And as you can see, you see the RGB values that are the equivalent of the cmyk values.

Cheers,
rfs
