I have not worked with male models before and I am not sure about the results I will get. When I shoot a female I see beauty and sexyness. One of the female models that I use alot has been asking me over and over to shoot this male model and I agreed. I feel I should expand my port so why not ? So how do you shoot a male model for his portfolio ?

I would suggest not trying anything you know about posing females. Males are masculine, so they shouldn't have many curves and angles. I would try using a silver umbrella for harsher detailed lighting. Only suggestions, it's really whatever you are going for.

The only advice I ever got on this was from Gant Leighton, a student of Avedon's. He told me the biggest difference in shooting men and women is the f-stop. He slight overexposed women in formal portraits to get a softer skin effect and slightly under exposed men. This really applies to portrait work and in could be a fairly narrow area stylistically.

Good luck!

Well as far as posing goes women stretch and men compress. Women look better long and lean - if there is mucle definition it is more attracitve longer than thinker.
Men wuld compress or flex in a sense. A good example is abs men will compress or arch forwrd to get the best solid thick look while women may arch backward and stretch the stomack to recuse the thickness.
