Like someone wrote above - cameras are just one tool in the photographers toolkit. I shoot Nikon & Pentax 35s, Mamiya 6x7, Sinar & Graflex 5x7 and have even been caught with a Canon in my hands -- day-to-day it is the job at hand which decides the camera. I envy the guy with the Mamiya C330 - years ago I traded mine for a Bronica S2A...I'm stilling feeling stupid for that deal.

But under the full-disclosure clause: My all-time favorite camera is a brace of Nikon F3s one mounted w/an 80-200 and the other w/an 24mm. I'm slowing beginning to understand that the D200 is going to live up to the F3s trusted status.

Been waiting to reply to this one. I had a Canon Rebel, but I have now just bit the bullet and upgraded to a Canon 5D. Now to learn to use it as well as some of the guys/gals on here!

Wow! all these people with full frame sensors...
I've used Canon since 1976 because they felt right in my hands, no disrespect to Nikon intended...
I've owned Canon A1, F1, AE-1, T50, T70, T90, EOS 100, EOS 1000, EOS 10D, EOS 20D and EOS 5D... When I shot weddings I used Bronica ETRS and ETRSsi but sold them when I went digital...

This is Maine in a nutshell. The jobs suck, the pay is atrocious (somewhere between poverty and unemployment and I'm a friggin' engineer), the winters suck beyond belief, and I've never seen a Leica here either.

I'm an amateur photographer and my first film cameras were the Leica SLR series due to the reputation and results of their lenses. It was a big mistake on my part, as I realized I couldn't afford to expand on a extremely versatile lens collection due to their prices. I purchased my first DSLR based on lens choice and prices. I went with Canon though I prefer Nikon bodies more, but I am very happy.

If I had money, and I don't, I'd like to try a Nikon D200. Consider, I have a FugiFinePix 3800 :-) And often go back to my film camera , Yashica FX-3 /w tokina 70-210 F2 . Why the Yashica? Cause it has most of the features of it's big brother Contax, which is 3x more. :-)
