I have a few things I need cleared up. First is there a parameter that you find yourself keeping it set on most of the time ? Also do you customize the parameter any way? I plan on doing most of my work outdoors so is there a favorite setting in the parameter that works best ? I need to do alot of testing on this and I would like to get a little background info on what most people find what they like best.

I shoot RAW almost exclusively now, so I don't play with Parameters at all (they only affect JPG recording).

As for Custom Functions... (Here it comes!!!)

CF 4-1 - Quite a lot of discussion around this one. You either love it or hate it.
I happen to love it. Moves AF to the * Button on the rear of the camera.
Press it to focus... release to lock focus. Set AF Mode to AI Servo.

CF 8-1 - ISO Expansion on - enables ISO 3200.

CF 13-1 - Moves the AF Point selection control to the little joystick above the
Control Dial on the rear of the camera.

That's mine... anyone else?

Cheers!

Thanks, I want to shoot raw + jpg when I am doing a tfcd shoot so I can burn a cd for her right then after the shoot. Then I can use the raw file to edit the shots she likes after she looks over the cd.

CF 4-1 - Moving the AF to the " * " button on the rear of the camera... i WAY prefer the the AF there. i also keep the AF point at the center.

You can just shoot RAW, and skip the + JPG which will allow more photos on the card. The RAW image has a 1500 x 1000 image imbedded in it and programs like BreezeBrowser can extract the imbedded JPG is a flash. I'm often called on to do a presentation of photos shot during an event, and all I do is put the card with the RAW images into the reader and start the BB extract and in about 30 seconds all of the JPGs are on the laptop ready to display (1GB card about 110 images).

Cheers,
rfs
