In spite of being a amateur photographer for over 35 years I have only been a light meter user a short while. The other day I was shooting a Christmas Tree, no lights, in front of a black background. The meter said F8.5 so I set the camera to F9 and shot. The histogram was showing way underexposed and to get the Histogram from low to highlights I needed F4 on the camera. Crap my meter, Sekonic L358, was not agreeing with my camera. I spent an hour wrestling with what was wrong.

Well Duh. Finally it hit me a low key photo. I set up a White Background set the camera at F9. Damn right on the money. I love my meter. I love my meter.
