Has anyone used a rail system for their lights? Good and Bad comments welcome.

Anyone used the Dynatrans from Amvona?

I haven't tried them yet. When we move to Boise, I'm thinking of using the system Calumet sells. I'll take at look at Amvona's stuff, though I don't hear much regarding their quality. My Sinar Bron catalog has a nice system called the Roof Track System: http://www.sinarbron.com/foba/rail/rail.php

I use to have one when I had a Portrait Studio. I love them. No cords or tripods to trip over. You might have some minor limitations, but if you get a good system and a full system you will be very happy.

Casey

Scott Dial in San Antonio had a Calumet rail system. It was very nice! Drop Scott an e-mail scott_dial@sbcglobal.net and I'm sure he'll give you the details. He's on an extended photo safari in Cozamel. Life can be trying....

im assuming you mean with rails on the cieling to move everything around? this is what we have at sac city college and while convenient and safe for the lights. it really limits what is possible in some regards. another drawback is... more one light, and the others tend to move around. this is because they put two lights (one on each end) of each bar that is connected to the rails.

i hope that made sense, and is what youre asking.
