Check out your local JC Penny's. They use a knock-off of the autopole for there displays. They might have some to dispose of. Also, you can check with a merchandising display shop.

With Key Clamps and some tubing/pipes you can build almost anything.

Hey, those things look just like the "load locks" that truckers use. Try your local truck stop or try the link below (25 bucks). I don't know your length requirement but if its within a foot or so of 8 feet then you're in luck.
