I recently started doing some in studio and commercial photography and I am looking to see what equipment I should get and or need. I have done a few swimsuit style shoots outdoors using natural light and every time i try to do a studio shoot..things dont go well or when I try to light things.. when i use a flash (canon 420ex i think) it looks super washed out and white pasty loooking skin.. when i use halogen lights.. ie home depot work lights... it looks either over blown or not enough light ot get a crisp image. any suggestions on what i should get would be great..

I am doing promotional events.. glamour shoots for a dance team. website photos for various businesses.. also may be used for print promotional material.. on my own i do scenic and some glamour work.. since its what i love..

I currently own.

Canon rebel with battery adapter 6.3megapixel
canon 420 flash
stock canon 18-55
75-300mm canon lens..
28-135 IS canon lens
42" reflector
sp single strobe light umbrella..

I am thinking about getting a canon 1d or 1DS

I will be having 1-2 shoots a week.. and want to use the money from this to invest in new gear.. thanks

I agree with Jason, the light meter is a must.
