It looks like it used soft light for the lighting. That is to say there was a large light source fairly close to the model that made the shadows more diffuse. This is a good thing in a photo of a woman and in particular a glamour photo where we often employ a "softbox" in taking the photo. However, if we look at the eyes of this photo, they look reasonably sharp, which is also a plus in a glamour photo. Usually a monitor will not make a photo look soft unless that monitor is really old. Often the problem with some monitors is that they will effect how dark or light the image looks or how the color looks.
I like the photo in general, but I'm not too happy about the posing of the hands.
