Yeah, it would have, but shadows aren't necessarily bad when photographing a woman that you want to make look good:
On both of my monitors her right shoulder and parts of her face are blown out, just like on your first monitor. Maybe a little bit of burning in would add a bit of detail to those areas.
Nice image though I would have had her hold her head a little bit more upright, and bring the chin around towards her shoulder a bit more. That might help reduce that crease that runs along the junction of her neck and her back, and might encourage her to not hike up her shoulder so much.
