A picture from my recent shoot with Wicked Talent model Julia Vicious, who looks anything but in this one:

I loved both these shots and was going to post them separately, but the little voice told me to make a duo-montage with them - the first such image I have ever made. I don't know if the little voice is my Muse or just an old head trauma, but when it speaks, it pays to listen.

To wax metaphorical, the world of dreams is black and white (for most people: I dream in surrealistic color) and the waking world is colorful, hence the shift. I tried it all three ways. The full b/w version was also nice, but I like this better. The full color version didn't have the impact of the mix or the full b/w.

In retrospect I wish I had used a tripod and gotten identical framing - as you can see there is some divergence (look at the distance between her elbow and the bottom edge of the frame.) But this was not a planned image: she just is really good at holding still.

Marc:

No offense, but neither of these photos support all the rhetoric.

I'll leave the full blown critique to somebody like Christian.

The saying "a Rose by any other name" applies here but in the inverse.

Occasionally I go to an art show and there will often be a solid canvas with a couple of smears of paint across it.

Next to it (always matted of course) is a 5x7 card with the Name of the the work of art, you know something like:

Mystical ethereal wonderlust

and then what is apparently the artist "vision statement" or interpretation that will say something like:

An expression of the pantheotic nature of of systillic culture and the diversion between intent, action and symbiotic synergistic genotype extraction and conjunction of beauty and evil from which all idyllic assurance springs forth.

Or something like that.

I look at it and go....HMMMM, I got that same thing hanging on my refrigerator painted by my 4 year old with fingerpaints.

Compared to many other photos you have posted over the years, these are not the best displays of your talent.

Nothing against rhetoric, but there has to be a synergistic dialouge between vision, execution and production to obtain the critcal mass necessary to bond artist with patron or else suffer disconnect and miscommunication.

Okay, so I went a little overboard. But only a little. Threatening me with Christian is totally overreacting, in my opinion. And comparing me to an abstract expressionist, well, that's just plain nasty. I mean, they are at least recognizable pictures of something pretty!

Thanks for the softening comment about my other pics, though.

Marc:

I haven't quite gotten to the point where I can call anybody "Biyotch" yet, so I just thought I would "threaten" you with Christian.

Photos are like jokes....there's good ones' bad ones, clean ones, dirty ones, and ones you would only share with your friends........

But like jokes, if you have to explain it, it sort of loses the point.

I like your concept and idea, just perhaps a bit more execution and a bit less explanation.
