Hi Orchid,
Are you sure you want the full blown critique? If you are faint of heart then stop reading now. This critique is in no way personal, but it should help the photographer to shoot better pictures of you.
Ok first shot, I like the pose myself. I am sure some will disagree, but I just like it. Red on red just kills this shot. No background lighting makes you fade into the background. Wrinkles in the paper in the foreground also very distracting. Whole image is very flat as far as the lighting. Try this same shot and use one light from left or right and see if you like it better. Then maybe add a hairlight to set you apart from the background.
Whole image looks very soft, focus on the eyes and recompose frame. Some call it half click, half press shutter button while focus locks on eyes, hold half shutter and recompose.
Both images suffer from some of these same items. One other thing is no catch lights in the eyes, making them very boring and lifeless. Try to work on keeping your fingers together as sometimes loose fingers look abit distracting.
The posing in the second image does show off a nice mid-section but it doesn't work for me. Also a slight bend in the right arm would have added a nice angle to things.
Keep at it and things will start to fall into place. In keeping within forum rules when posting a critique, here is my image.
