When photographing anyone for a portrait, I always, without exception, tell them that white clothing will be the worst choice. I suggest they wear solids and anything but white. I politely explain that white clothing will bring attention to the clothing and if they wish to keep the attention on their face and expression to wear blues, greens, burgundy, mauve, coral....anything except white.
I probably say that 3 to 5 times in the conversation.
So, yesterday I went to a home, and the lady came to the door in a white blouse and white skirt. She was about 5 ft 2 and maybe could loose 25 pounds, but she had on white and tight (rhyme intended, I guess). I will have to use liquify to close the gaps in the front of the blouse. Oh My!
Hubby had on a white shirt. They probably will not like the results as well as if they had just listened.
But what is new? I photograph many high school kids in the summer.. a lot of girls, and they always bring something white, tight, and strapless... well not all of them bring that. Only the short chubby girls bring that.
