Okay, so I'm a still a long way from deriving my income from photographic work. Truth be told, this will always be a love that will continue to hopefully pay just enough on occasion to justify my insanity to my lovely wife.

With that said, I believe that it would not be in my best interest to actually possess a portfolio to show to prospective models and (the rare) private glamour client. I've toted my laptop to a few "coffee meetings," but it's bulky, and includes some pieces of work that I don't necessary want to share.

So here's the question...what size? Tried searching the topic twice and came up empty. Is 8" x 10" enough for a serious prosumer/pro wannabe, or am I doing myself an injustice by not going larger. Also, would you go with a classic leather look, or is the aircraft aluminum "bound box" a better look. Leather seems timelss and looks better with age, but what the heck do I know?

Discuss amongst yourselves, and my thanks in advance.

I have several, depending on the client. Models, Commercial, etc. I have 11 x 14's mounted on 16x20 boards in a clamshell box. I have a book type with 11 x 14's. I also make it a point to carry 4 x 6 Itoya mini-albums with me everywhere I go. They are always handy, for those times that I run into a situation where I don't specifically have one of my bigger books.

Im in that prosumer/pro wannabe category that you mentioned, and I've been using a 9x12 book with mostly 8x10s, however since I started using a professional print lab my size options opened up and I've tried a few 9x12s and I really think I like 8x12. However I plan on moving up to a larger size in the next few months as the money from my senior shoots begins to flow.
