I can't imaging printing a 9 X 12 size for any client other than a model.

Well, it only takes me several hours to edit approx. 250 images and burn a cd for the client. But, like you, I wouldn't print a 9x12 for anybody but a model who specificlly requests it, but most are quite happy with the 8x10's that they get, especially with the turnaround time. With me, I imagine that with my experience in advertising, when the graphic designer and the image setter is waiting for the image that I'm working on, I'm used to really fast turnaround times while still holding onto the quality. While obviously in the modeling world, we have a bit more time to work with, I think that I'm just used to the really fast turnaround times. Fortunately, I have an excellent local pro lab that from my experience can produce up to about 20 8x10's in an hour.

Re: Model portfolio size

If you have a Costco near you this is what I do. Costco doesnt do 9x12 but they do do 18x12 which cost 2.99ea, so I just put two side by side 9x12's in a file or a lot of the time I'm printing wide images that I chop in half and spread across two pages. Make sure when using Costco to not have them color correct your images, which they do by default.

Re: Model portfolio size

I do believe that Costco posts their printer color space settings online. Can't remember the link though.

Dry Creek Photo has a lot of printer profiles for various Costco locations across the country as well some other outlets. You can search by state:
