Danica's only 19 and this was her first professional photoshoot ... but judging from the results we got, I think she's got a great modeling career ahead of her. here are a few pix from our half-day shoot. Comments and constructive critiques are always welcome.

Is she supposed to look "cartoonish" or is the post processing on the skin way overdone?

Hey Dave - thanks for taking the time to review and comment on Danica's images. If you're referring to the pink bikini against the white background -- YES, I meant for that image to have a blown-out, glowing. or as you say "cartoonish" look. That's a style treatment that I've used for several years and model always love it.

If you're referring to the other images, below are a few before and after pix so you can see what I did in post processing. In the side by side shots below, the image on the left is without post processing ... the image on the right is a copy of the pix I posted at the start of this thread where I did some skin smoothing. Did I over do it ... or does she just look a little like a cartoon character?

To me, the images on the right look a bit over-smoothed. The skin doesn't look "real" to me, especially the top set. The pink bikini pic you posted earlier is the closest one to a more natural look.

Again, just my opinion.

I DO retouch here and there, but I try to make the end result look as real as possible.

I have to agree with Dave on this one. If you can dial it back a bit I think the beautiful young lady would look better.

Thanks for the input and constructive critiques. It's good to know there are still photographers on G1 who are willing to share their time and expert advice - whether offering praise or constructive criticism. I'll definitely consider "dialing it back" as I revise these images and edit new images.
