The Face ...

Sometimes a model has a face that is truly "Helen" like. I thought it might be an interesting topic to see what faces you have shot that would be honored by the term "the face". So post them here if you have them. Here is one of my own of a DFW model Emilia. This was shot with the Canon 20D and Sigma 70-200 F2.8 and a Alien Bee Flash head.

Some may complain that the skin is too smooth, but that's just her skin. She has good skin.

Cheers,
rfs

Re: The Face ...

Nice image, great skin for sure, I would have thought it was shot under flourescent lights, because of the skin tone and smoothness look similar some I have shot under flourescent lights..

Re: The Face ...

Here are two of mine, shot with a D300 Rebel, probably cloudy w/b with my 50mm 1.8, and studio flash.

Re: The Face ...

I like to use the fluorescent ring light also which looks like what you used. The only problem is when you have them directly facing the light you get that effect on the end of the nose that looks like they're looking at you through a piece of clear glass and have their nose pressed up against it. I've found that its best to always angle the face a bit away from dead center when using this type of light.

Note about softness of skin: One way to get the very soft skin (in addition to good skin to start with and good makeup) is a very large softbox close to the model.
Cheers,
rfs

Reminds me of someone from the movies, but I can't recall who.

Re: The Face ...

rfs,
I love the image! Perhaps the best thing is not PS'ing the skin. This is real life and I find it very attractive!

Here is a model who shot with me that required very little photoshop
for her complexion.

Re: The Face ...

Here's my favorite face. Sophia Lauren is channeled through Sarah.

Roger, is that model still working in the DFW area? Care to share contact information?

Thanks!

Re: The Face ...

Well she's still in the DFW area, but as far as I know she's not modeling any more but rather working at a full time job. However, there are several people who have worked with her and maybe someone else will chime in. I shot with her two or three times and she is really delightful to work with. There are some more photos of her in my portfolio if you want to check out other styles I worked with her in.
Cheers,
rfs
