This 23 year old has the most beautiful thick hair. Photo was taken around 11am
under the shade of trees. This was her first time ever in front of a camera.
Anything I could have improved on?

Lighting is sort of flat (bland). Perhaps a reflector when taking the shot. But in PS you can adjust the curve to increase the contrast a bit and perhaps add a little snap to the shot.

I like the photo, and agree with RFs on adding some more contrast to give it punch, but wait and see for some more comments from other members

besides needing to add contrast, there seems to be something, compositionally, that ain't working (IMO) in this image: Not only is it drawing the viewers' attention away from her beautiful face and hair (towards the rose) but it almost makes her head look too small, perspective wise.

I like the styling of the pink. Like to see her face straight on.
