Blue- Green screen background Software

I'm thinking of buying some software to use blue screen background editing for a shoot I have coming up soon. Do any of you have any experience in this work and if so, what do you reccommend.

Re: Blue- Green screen background Software

I've tried a variety of chroma-key systems for high end photography in the past and gave up on them about 4 years ago as they just couldn't handle the resolution. They did ok - but really no better than the magic wand in photoshop. Further, most of them at the time did not allow for creating clipping paths which is sometimes required. As a result it's been me, the pen tool and more bezier curves than you can shake the proverbial stick at.

With that said I know technology changes so keep us all posted on your progress and results. I for one would be interested.

Steve

Re: Blue- Green screen background Software

Try http://www.digitalanarchy.com/primat...atte_demo.html works very well for most things I've thrown at it. The key to any chromakey software working well is getting the lighting right.

Re: Blue- Green screen background Software

If you do the proper pre-production planning, you can do everything you want in Photoshiop. I shoot everything against seemless paper -- choose the color of the paper to match the background replacement image -- then combine everything in Photoshop.

For what it's worth, I created a calendar in 2002 using an Olympus 8080 point and shoot and Photoshop. Check out the calendar and more samples here:
http://www.martygast.com/calendars/satc/

This picture was created using four separate images - model (shot on white seemless), candy box, red hearts and white hearts.

This picture was created using five separate images - model (shot on blue seemless), foreground plant, pool of water, waterfall and the background mist.
