One of the beauties of digital is that you can color balance to any color temperature light source by doing a custom white balance. So with digital any light source is fair game and you can still get good color.

Hey Mike, how've ya been. Still gotta do lunch together.

My wife went to the Southern Women's show and saw your ads. Nice stuff!

Lunch sounds good, just let me know when....

Yes, that's a busy show. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend any time at the show this year. Probably would have been fun.

Don't forget to try the tinker tubes setup. You can find them here: http://www.software-cinema.com/page/tinkertubes
It's a cheap way to build diffusers, softboxes etc out of PVC.
I have added more threaded connectors to make things more flexible, but for $20 dollars, you can get a lot of pipe, and different materials for reflectors/diffusers to experiment with.
I'm not sure about using them with hot lights, I mainly use them with daylight and flash. The fabric would need to be heat resistant/flame retardant.
Monte Zucker a big time wedding photographer is using fluorescent lighting and softboxes. No flash. The lights are bright enough to keep the pupils from getting too big. The light is WYSIWYG, and cool. I am starting to convert my hot lights to cool lights to see what happens.
