Is a "Buddy" a "Friend"?

This may be OT, but I'm having trouble figuring out some of the website features...
If I add someone as a "Buddy", do they show up as a "Friend", or are they separate entries. If so, how do I add a "Friend"? What is the difference, if any?

Re: Is a "Buddy" a "Friend"?

I'll try again - I can't find any FAQs or instructions on this, so...

On this website, what is the difference between a "Buddy" and a "Friend"? Rolando? Anyone?

Re: Is a "Buddy" a "Friend"?

I believe they are the same. The clue is that when you go to "My Home", there is an option for looking at your "Buddy/ignore List" and when you view it, it shows your list of people who are shown as your "Friends" in the Profile view. It is sort of confusing, isn't it? I think we ought to get rid of the word Buddy and replace it with "Enemy" and then we could have a friends list and an enemy list.

Cheers,
rfs

Re: Is a "Buddy" a "Friend"?

Thanks! You must have been around during the Nixon administration! It is kind of inversly redundant, isn't it... I just noticed that my profile page says "DocSmith doesn't have any friends", which is kind of depressing, so I thought about adding some. However, as an adult, I feel a little odd about asking someone to be my "Buddy" or "Friend"! Maybe "Associate" or "Collegue" would be a better term.

Doc

PS The Photovision calibration target is working out great, and the DVD is very helpful -thanks for the recomendation. My best to Dee!

Arrow They are not the same...

When you "buddy" someone, an automatic email is sent to them, if they accept, they become your friend and are also listed in your profile page. I'll buddy you, PM me if you have any problems, oh, you can make me your friend after I buddy you (grin), thanks, rg sends!

Re: Is a "Buddy" a "Friend"?

Wow! Thanks, Rolando! One last question: If I "Buddy?" you, and you accept (you will show up on My Home as my Buddy) then do I automatically show up as your Buddy on your My Home page, or do you have to "Buddy?" me?
