Hey,

I like it. I have never done a portrait of an Africian American before. However, with my photojournalism experience with the Northerner Newpaper. (NKU) I find that my exposure for the skin color and shin is always off to some degree. In film this was an easy fix for me. However with digital if I am not in RAW I can not fix it quickly or not at all (Journalism Ethics Rules). However, this is a good image. My only nit would be the background seems to have streaks in the material next to her right side.

Overall, Great image.

Beautiful woman. Great match of lipstick and blouse, but the nail polish is a touch off to my eyes. But I love her expression and your lighting. It looks like two lights, one on either side - about level with the model?

Overall, Great image.

The type of makeup the model wears can make the difference for images.
It is best to keep the skin as dry as possible and not use something that
would reflect light. The streaks that you see comes from the background
which is barn siding that has some texture and painted flat white. This
image was shot in jpg format and used the white balance set at "sunny".

You are correct about the lighting. Two lights set slightly above eye level
at a 45 degree angle at camera right and about 30 degree angle at camera
left..
