digital technology has been working overtime to provide idiot-proof gear that allows the incompetent or inexperienced to occasionally (and to seemingly) shoot in a competent and/or experienced manner. fortunately, that kind of faux-skill is usually fleeting and, as roger notes earlier in the thread, a matter of luck due to the sheer volume of images digital shooters capture.

although technology takes well-aimed pot-shots at craft, craft will never be fully replaced by technology... hopefully.

I'm guessing that Canon will be following up with more new products by Photokina time next month. 40D? It doesn't make sense to have a sensor-cleaning gizmo on the Rebel if they don't offer it on the higher end products.

No, there will just be lots of camera users that can't really properly
use the camera they own. ;-)
