Rainy day blues...

I love taking pictures, especially of pretty girls. But sometimes it rains, the model doesn't / can't show or I'm too broke to afford an MUA, studio or whatever. Well, if you remember from way back my experiments with a mannequin (Dana, six foot gorgeous blonde) you also remember the shortcomings to using a mannequin; they only have one pose and one expression, so you're pretty limited. Besides, your wife throws a fit at having a six foot naked girl standing in the living room all the time.
Well, I may have found a temporary solution to this problem; 'Virtual Glamour'. It's software that lets you select or create a model, pose her / him / it, and add clothes and props and even complete sets. When you're all set, just click and take your picture. OK, it's not the real thing and even it has drawbacks, but hey, it's raining!
Here's an example:

There's a few more shots in my port and even more on the web site www.virtual-glamour.com.

That's very interesting.

I bought a manikin last year and while it's true that she only has one expression, 'Anna' is poseable and really helped me see what small changes in lighting would produce in the final picture.

I think we should all use whatever tools we find to improve our final results.

However, there is no substitute for a real, professional model who knows how to pose.

The problem with these models...

is they are as dumb as a box of rocks. You have to tell them everything and I do mean everything. On the up side once you tell them what to do they will hit the mark exactly as told. . . if you remembered to save the pose. They have no personality and never laugh at your jokes. 'Course if you pay for them once you never have to pay again and they are never late.

Re: Rainy day blues...

I was hoping you'd see it! You do some very good stuff!

Another good thing about them is that you don't have to worry about them changing the pose while you adjust a light or even go to lunch. They'll be right there when you get back.
