There have been a few posts here lately that would have been perfect the off-topic forum. Sure things got heated and occasionally nasty from time to time, but that's also the place I got to know the forum members the best.

that's the thing about the new forum: it seems noticeably less personal and more sterile. i can't explain why but, to me, it definitely seems that way. it's kind of strange considering this forum is about people photography yet, since we went to the new forum design, the "people" seem less human-like and more bot-like if that makes sense.

Well, I really miss the whole old GG site. This thing is just not user friendly to me. But it's not my sandbox, so I can either deal with it or let it go (which I mostly have). Sad, having been here since the beginning.

Agreed. I find the new site much less welcoming. It's hard to get excited about posting anything. FWIW

I used to like the way the recent threads looked on the old site. There were more than a few words there and I could easily decide which I wanted to read. Now if the first words don't get my attention I just don't have time to check them out. Maybe the center section should be a little smaller and the recent threads section be a little larger.
I really miss....
