1-Wear black shirt, 2-have model close her eyes for a few just befor shot, 3-shoot early or late in the day, 4-invent small camera or stick mounted silver reflector to aim at eyes.

All kidding aside, nice shots.

Nice shots and beautiful model.

As for the light in the eyes, I don't think you are going to get that using all natural light and no reflectors or fill flash.

Now the reflector doesn't have to be artficial. If you were standing on a large, white sandy beach that was reflecting that light around and the model was looking in the direction of that beach chances are there would be some light popped into the eyes. Otherwise, get a reflector boy :-)

good shots. i would use a reflector for the eyes. or wear a reflector..but then you might look like you are at a rave.

Re: just for fun...mult images

Hey Guys..

Thank you for all the input...Ron...I do most of those things so thanks....good to know I am learning something from the pros...although..the reflector on a stick?...thats funny...and a great idea...hadnt thought of that one. I kinda figures it's not really gonna happen without bouncing some light back. I do tend to shoot early/late and try to use the sand or water as a reflective source. Andy Mac seems to do a good job of this. My next question is: does it kill the shot? It doesnt bother me tooo much but I would like to see some more color.
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Michael

Looks like you are shooting with the sun at a high angle. Better than high noon but still up there.

I noticed this particular model has a lot of mascara and eye liner. That's going to hide the eyes even more.

Since eyes inset, you are going to have to get light in there by fill flash or reflector.

All models eyes are different. Some of them small, medium, large, round, oval, or egg shaped. It's important to determine and choose the best possible solution considering many elements of when, where and how to shoot a subject based on their features.

If you must shoot when the sun is still high, don't think about the model always looking at the camera. Also it's time to utilize accessories like sunglasses.

Re: just for fun...mult images

If all else fails, and the shots are already made, and you still don't have the pop to the eyes, then you can add catch lights using Photoshop. With a bit of practice you can get a pretty good effect.
Cheers,
rfs

Re: just for fun...mult images

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry we did not get a chance to get together over Easter. Work and family stuff got in the way.

I opened one of your photo's in Photoshop cs and it said there is no ebedded color profile. It should be sRGB or RGB. That might be one of the reasons you want more color.

I like the shots and on my puter she looks great !!
