Virgin Islands Shoot Comes to a Conclusion

Forgive for not posting images in the past two or three days, Rolando turned us loose on each other and we just worked ourselves to exhaustion. This happens when you get few well motivated models and shooters together in an exotic setting. Today around noon we're ferried to the the main island, some went to the airport, another shooter and I found out today that we're both staying extra days at different hotels, but we're getting together tomorrow to go to St.John Island to a nature preserve to shoot some local fauna and flora(they're sisters). I have selected few images so I hope you enjoy them, it will surprise me if another shooter will have "similar" or same shots as I do, my shooting partner was doing a variations as I was so we don't have ditto work.

MichelleL does her fashion poses just for me, looks like she would rather do her glamour, but she combines the two nicely.


Man does not live by bread alone so I asked, let's do some fine art and Malynn went along with it enthusiastically. Dang! Isn't she good at it? /that's your multifaceted talent.


Holley Dorough, the April's Playmate, I wanted to do something different with her. We went to the far side of the Water Island facing the ocean where the Navy had artillery turrets placed strategically trained on enemy ships. We saw the observation deck as well as the tunnel connecting the turrets. We lucked out because Rolando came to assist me, mind you, he didn't direct, repeatedly asked, John, what's next?

I asked Erin if she likes to do theme variation of glamour, she sure was surprised when I told her it will be militay, but no guns not at this shoot at least.

Congratulations on some excellent images. I can see that you had as much fun this week as I did on the first VI workshop. You had some amazing models to work with and you made the best of it!

Thank you for the kind words so far. My personal feeling is that we have so much in common so in a way that makes us a family and that is good. Sometimes I sit and reflect, I don't have as much in common with some members of my family as I do with my colleagues. It amazes me so much when I work with another photog I never met or worked before, but we have common goal, we throw away our cultural, racial, religious differences and just aim cooperatively to achieve our coomon goal. My shooting partner was Paul from Atlanta, nice Asian gentleman. We were talking and kidding so much that Rolando thought we should be the next sitcom series on TV. If any of you go to one of these workshops please go with an open mind and let your good nature take its course.

Absolutely beautiful shots. That is such a mice place to shoot. Our time was well spent there too.
