I just got of the phone with a publisher, and it looks like I'll be getting my first tear sheets soon! The denim story should be coming out in a month or two. I just had to tell somebody.
On a related note, I nominate Christian for teacher of the year.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it! Oh, and Cozanostra, I'll be sure to post 'em as soon as I can! I do have one sample image from that shoot in my port (the only one in my port right now) to give an idea of what they'll look like, though...
Thanks again!

Good on ya, Sam!! It feels great, doesn't it! I remember my first published picture. It was a girlscout troop at a nursing home. I got the photo of all the Girl Scouts with all of the ladies in the nursing home together. It was akin to a "grip and grin" shot but the joy those young girls brought to those elderly ladies was priceless and I was honored to have been the one hired to photograph it. My second published photo turned out to be several photos selected for a yacht racing magazine. My friend and I would chase these huge yachts on the coast of Maine during the Regattas and photograph them. These aren't tiny sailboats either...they are 40 and 50-ft. sailing vessels worth a few hundred bucks. We were in a speed boat and got some great shots! That felt great too, to see my photos selected for publication. For me, it never gets old!!
Yep it does! I guess you'll always remember your first time. I'm guessing it'll never get old for me either! That's why I'm not gonna sit on my haunches now, I'm workin' up more story ideas, and hopefully if everything works out, I can keep up the momentum!
John --
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Rick --
What's up dude! And thanks! I gotta tell ya, I had a lot of fun with the fashion work. I don't want it to be a fluke though, so like I said to Mike, I'm trying to work up some more ideas, so hopefully I can keep it up! Later Rick!
