that is either a portrait or artistic rendering of the subject, rarely have I encountered tattoos or piercings to be anything more than a hinderence. I've seen several images here in recent days of several extremely lovely young ladies with metallic warts on their noses. If, as I believe, the purpose of well posed and composed portraiture is to draw the eye of the beholder to the eye of the subject then that purpose is defeated when the eye is continually drawn to extraneous influences.
Glamour, especially glamour as represented here on this forum, is meant to draw the eye to those parts of the body that represent the sensual aspects. Usually this is done with revealing drapery (clothes) and or lights and sometimes color elements. I have yet to see tattoos that do anything to enhance such imagery. If anything they detract from the purpose. Sometimes (too often) in a manner that I can only call garish.
If and when tattooists approach their "art" as an enhancement to the lines of the body then perhaps I will see tattoos as an aid instead of a hinderence my work. Until then I will continue to call it as I see it:
