These are recent and various. All BW for some reason, just some stuff I was hoping someone might look at and -what the heck- post a comment or two about.
#1 I'm torn on. I like the blown highlights in the hair and the contrast with her dark eyes, but I'm not so fond of the blown highlights on her face and shoulder.
#2 should be making you money somewhere.
#3 & #4 I'm looking at the models too much to talk about the images very much (at least I'm honest LOL).
In the first one, is that really shallow depth of field or post production? I like the effect of having one eye sharp and one eye soft, but I despair of ever being able to do that myself.
Post. I threw a bunch of gaussian blur over a duplicate layer, turned the layer into a mask, then dragged a black to white gradient down from the top right corner.
Thank you sir. We have a friend/model in common BTW, the fabulous Ginger Sharp. Really liked the stuff you did with her, extremely elegant and beautiful. I think she and I are doing a retro fashion thing sometime soon, gonna try and shoot it at the Park Cafe here in town, should be pretty cool.
thanks for checking them out so thoroughly. For whatever reason the highlights didn't hurt my feelings in that first one but I certainly see what you mean.
The second one was a money shoot. We got a ton of stuff wandering around downtown Nasvhille right after Christmas, it was freaking COLD. He's a pretty well known local jazz guy, the whole set was done for his website & upcoming CD.
3 & 4 ...thanks, I agree, with ladies like that in front of the camera it's a lot easier to look good behind it
Thanks man, truly appreciated. Hey, I've got family up in KY, Paris to be exact. Mom, Dad, Aunt, Uncle...God's country up that way, the bluegrass really is some of the most beautiful real estate in the world.
