When I look at a woman in that manner I expect to see a seductive look and come hither look, Im confused with by the Smile!! is she saying Im so happy to be naked??? someone clear this up for me once and for all!!!!

Re: Smile and show them Boobies!!

I;m not sure about anyone else, but if I go for the mood then why put a smile in the way if that's not called for.

I didn't want the smile here. Not trying to sell anything.
Ok, a smirk was alright.

simple

The pic needs to tell a story. With glamour its often a fun, sexy smile type of story. 75% of the time.

The pic you posted is one of my least favorite. Whats the fun story? What is her facial expression saying?

WTF is she doing? Explain the concept. Or better, the concept should explain itself. Good pics dont need an explanation.

Not every model can pull off every look. You can copy something you see in a fashion mag and it works in Vogue but it wont work with Dee because she is not a 5'11 fashion model with angular features. She does look great having fun and in commercial type poses.

And even more blunt, some ladies look better than others at different poses. Some can pull off sultry, some can't. I think Dee looks great with a smile. I think this pic looks like she needs an enema. Many great fashion models can't smile well. Supermodels can do both with ease.

So you have to learn to read the model and the story and put it all together. There is a reason that a magazine fashion story might have 100 people in for a casting. It takes that many agency models to find the right one for that story. We're talking experienced agency gals. They will often go though 100 to get the right 2-3.

You are working, primarily, with one model and trying to do everything with her.

Map out Dees features and looks and decide which she can pull off and which she can't. Dump the bad ones. She's got tons of nice looks.

Re: simple

I hope this is allowed, but I'm a little confused to I guess. Because DeAnn's pic while may have some techi type faults I think did create a mood.
I was actually looking for another pic, but this will I hope shows a mood with no smile, but an expression.

Not sure if I'm explaining right or not but is there a big separation between Glamour and mood type shots.

Re: simple

Glenn,
I'm curious, since we're on the subject of smiling and not smiling and features, etc... What do you think works for me. I have a mixture of both, but personally prefer to not smile, but have been told I should smile more. Opinions?

I know your asking Glenn who I'm sure may be more in touch with industry wants, but IMHO.
Each of your photos there emit a different feal or emotion. Your smile or expression seem to work for each. You have a beautiful smile I think, but in my book the need to smile is dependent of the mood or purpose of the shot.

Re: Smile and show them Boobies!!

Don,

I think it's more specific to the feel of the photo. You are somewhat generalizing with the whole "smiling with the boobies, what's up?" question.

You can have a naughty smile that would certainly fit the mood if the photo is done right. You can have more of a "I'm busted" smile if the photo is done right, etc. etc.

Not sure I'm understanding whre you are going with this???
