Model is Austin's (and GG's) own Tonia, outfit a custom DarkLeather creation, hair and makeup Tonia:

The general concept and art direction are Tonia's; the idea started from a Bjork video, but I snuck in a skirt/bustle idea I've been meaning to make for a while...

It's a little dark, a little "off", and I keep coming back to it...

Yeah, it is dark, and off, and intriguing.

Have you tried cropping off the empty space above, and adjust the gamma?

I've played with this one for a while, but everything I do to make it more conventionally "right" destroys whatever ephemeral quality I love about it. I'm planning to add text above her head; it was actually shot for that purpose... If you've got an idea for improving it, feel free to take a crack at it!
