I did some more shooting!! (4 images)

Heh, at this point I almost feel like I'm relearning, since it has really been so long since shooting much glamour.

I am trying really hard to avoid "vanilla" and I hate hate hate shooting glamour with a backdrop or seamless, but I fear it's what's available to me at the moment. I am not knocking those who use backdrops and seamless...I just prefer to avoid it if I can.

Shot these last night. I know darn well there's a critique forum, and I've been here long enough to know darn well not nearly as many people view it as do the Main Forum, so.....critique PLEASE!!

Truly...I do not get offended. Tell me what I could have done better thanks.

Later!
-Don

They seem to all have a slight magenta cast.
The eyes on 2,3 and 4 don't seem sharp.
I don't care for chopping off the top of model's heads when there appears to be no purpose.
I would have gone into more detail, if these had been in the critique forum.

Cheers,

Re: I did some more shooting!! (4 images)

Fair enough on where I posted. Feel free to PM or e-mail (don@donteaguephotography.com) me if you would like to give up that extra detail. ;-)

I have struggled with the magemta cast my whole photographic life! When I think I've color adjusted enough I post a photo, and someone points out it's still there. I'll get it straight eventually.

The eyes...yeah, something else I'm trying to improve upon. I actually do think they are sharper in numbers 3 & 4 on the .tiff's than they look here . Methinks my preparing them for web viewing is causing too many .jpeg artifacts and making them look not so good.

As far as the cropping of the models head goes, I can understand where you're coming from, but I fear I have done it so much that it has become prolly the only thing I can call stylistically my own. Heh. Yeah, I've been doing it for years.

Thanks for the honesty!

Ummmm...that's why I keep shooting and posting these images, to try and entice you up here. Kelli says she is "addicted" to shooting, and I believe I have a MUA available to me who would do just as well as a model.

You make a trip up here, and we'll bring some things together, and you can show these people that I really do have friends in the photographic community.

*goes to talk to Bec about baking something to further entice Jason to visit*

Later Buddy!

Re: I did some more shooting!! (4 images)

Cropping the top of the head off sometimes does work by "locking" in the composition and the negative space. The 3/4 of the redhead by herself is the only cropped head shot that could have had more crop or less crop.

I really like the 1st shot of the two of them, that crop makes sense and the composition is really good.

Keep up the posts.

Stu
