Let's face it, genetics plays an important part in this business. You can work out, eat all the right foods, and you're still stuck with the face God gave you. I always say: "I'm sure Mom's an earthling, but the older I get, the more I look like Jabba the Hutt!" (Of course, if I worked out and ate all the right things I might not look like Jabba, but whadda ya gonna do?)

Anyway, I got a call a few weeks ago from a model mom who was just sure her little boy would be a successful model. Actually I had met her son a few years earlier and unless things had really changed, I had to agree he was worth a look. Jamie showed up this weekend, Jane Pittman came over to do his makeup, and Eric Striffler and I had an opportunity to shoot a brief test with him. Things turned out pretty well and I'm forwarding some images on to a couple of agencies I work with who I think will be interested.

I took the opportunity to shoot a couple of shots of Jamie with his mom, you might see the family resemblance. By the time I shot this Jamie had been shooting for a couple of hours so he was pretty relaxed. His mom picked up on this photography thing pretty quick, of course it's always possible that appearing on the cover of Vogue a dozen times will do that for you.
