Seeing the blues.

I had this idea while watching a documentary about the life of Muddy Waters. How could I capture the essence of how "the blues" makes me feel in the form of an image? This was my first attempt...

Now, I'm interested in hearing thoughts about how I may capture the essence of blues while making it glamourous. Any and all ideas will be considered.

Re: Seeing the blues.

A hot woman, Both good looking and all southern summer sweaty, in a well worn blue dancing dress, sitting alone at a table in an old, rundown bar with an empty bottle of burbon and a full ashtray on the table. preferably with a jukebox or one guy (in a suit, hat and shades) largely out of focus in the background playing guitar.
Really needs a PBR neon sign too.
Next assignment?

You're one Hell of a writer. My shutter finger tripped uncontrollably as I read the last word of your post.

Not sure you can. While Jack's eloquence captures the popular media's essence of the blues perfectly, your shot is much more what blues seem to really be.

Single best book I know is Robert Palmer's (no, not THAT Robert Palmer, the other one, the blues historian) "Deep Blues."

Nice shot, btw.

To paraphrase a pretty darned good movie...

"The blues ain't nuthin'... except a good man feelin' bad."

Ha. If that's the case, I've had the blues my whole life.
