There is no background rg. it's shot in a warehouse....... just the floor going off into darkness. If I wanted a solid black bg, I would have shot it on paper. Does my work intimidate you?

Are you going to stalk my posts now?

Marc,

I don't know why you get so defensive, I'm not trying to bust your chops. I'm merely pointing out a few spots in the background like the one on the right side of the image by her hand and the one toward the crotch area--a little photoshop would fix that.

Let's get someting straight, I don't stalk you or anyone. Second, the image you posted in your response is the "marc" is by far superior to the image you posted, that's extremely well done. As everyone knows, I critique at your level. If your work is superior, my critique's are harder, like they would do in the real world, if you are a beginner, I'll critique, but with a beginner's tone. While you're no beginner, you've still have room to grow, both as a photographer and as a professional.

When I know someone can do better, like in your case, and you're a better photographer, I will critique harsher--you take it as a personal attack--that's a sign of unprofessionalism in this business.

You seem to have an aura that your work is tops and no one can critique it without being chastised either in emails, pm's or even on this forum, that is wrong especially to those that "lurk to learn," is that message you want to send out?

Your work is far from itimidating as you state, in fact, no one intimidates me in photography, normally superior photographers invigorate me to do better--I don't believe in intimidation. I also respect more veteran photographers, I don't look down upon them as you seem to do.

Again, it's your style, have fun with it. If you post on this forum, you are open to critiques--if you don't want that, then don't post here. I wish you the best, thanks, rg sends!

Sorry Marko. I have no intention of entering into your ongoing food fight with Rolando, but in this case he's right. The jet black background doesn't 'fade' into the floor. Instead there is a rather jaring transition to what looks like wood plank flooring with some crap near the transition point which is distracting. It wouldn't be difficult to P'shop a more gradual transition which would strengthen the overall image. It's a beautiful image, but it does have a flaw which in my opinion damages it.

As a personal and unsolicited aside, you are very good photographer, but watch the ego, it might be getting into your way. You have a tendency to attack anyone who finds any fault in your images. We all screw up on occasion! And personally, I have not been intimidated by a photographer since a circa 1985 workshop with Lucien Clergue in which he accused me of trying to set photography back 50 years.

I closed my studio and retired from commercial photography about 4 years ago, so I guess maybe I did?

When you and Rolando decide on a duel, whether swords or pistols at 40 paces, let me know in advance? It woul;d fit nicely with my Warrior collection and I would love the time to board my dogs then fly out to photograph it. Maybe even video?. I would be glad to make the results available on the forum.

Beautiful, dramatic light, Marc. (Er, beautiful model, too. Quite.)

The background transition doesn't distract me - bad eyes, I guess. However, there are two curls on the viewer's left that interact to form what appears to be a nearly square curler end...

but then again, it could all be due to the poor screen on my laptop, so let's just leave it at "beautiful, dramatic light, Marc."

Thanks for sharing.
