Fall Paths

I took these shots the other day (Oct. 11th). Please let me know your comments and critics. I'm still learning, and appreciate any help I can get. I used my HP PhotoSmart 735 digital camera.

Re: Fall Paths

My thoughts:

Both capture good color, but the first has no interest point ... it's just a mass of color something like an abstract painting.

The second image is really good ... it has the fall colors plus the winding path that draws my eye into the picture. Congratulations on a great image.

Steve

Re: Fall Paths

Number one might work better if the path were more visible. You nailed number two!

Keep shooting,

Re: Fall Paths

Nice shot on two Sarah. One is good but if you would have moved a little to the left or right on the path you would have a much more pleasing photo. Good job all around.

Re: Fall Paths

In my opinion, the first image has no real point of interest .. or maybe it has too many! But I find I look around the image without any real direction. What is the subject of the photo? (It can be the entire scene -- but your photo needs some focal point that draws the eye). I like the dead branch at the bottom.

The second image is more visually interesting. That's a great path! Once more leaves turn, take another -- I'll bet you get a really nice shot.

It's been a weird fall here in the midwest -- maybe where you are too. Leaves have been slow to change, so your images do not have much color variation. Take photos every week of the same scene and you'll be amazed at how much it changes over the next month.
