Post Processing Workflow

I'm interested possibly finding a better way to post process images. Let me take you through my workflow.

Pull images from CF card into a folder on my HD.
Use Raw Shooter (RSE) to browse through the images, rating the best ones with RSE.
Open the CR2 file with Adobe PS CS2 and tweak the RAW file (CR2) to my likeing.
Edit the image in PS CS2 (blur, USM, etc).
Save to jpg.
Move the original CR2 file into a nested folder labeled RAW.

Rinse and Repeat.

Is this the most effective way to move through a set of images from a photoshoot?
