Glowing Eyes

I Have been looking at quite a lot of the posts around here and have noticed that people are bringing out the eyes, i assume in photoshop. By this i mean that the colour is very striking almost un-natural, with loads of detail in the cornea and the Sclera are superbly clean and bright. Just wondering if anyone can give me any tips on how to do this. ive looked aroung on the post production forum but not found what i am looking for.
