What the heck do I do to correct this flare...

...Besides remember to put the freakin' lens hood on so it doesn't happen in the first place...D'OH!

I've done nothing but fiddle with the color balances, aiming for at least skin tone matchup...I selected the flare area with the polygonal lasso, then feathered the selection five pixels and went to fiddling.

Is it saveable, or is it junk?

There are other problems, of course, but the magenta flare is the one that I'd like to address the most...
