PhotoShop CS Question

Ok, so I have CS and one of the tools I looked forward to using was the Color Replacement tool. However, I'm having problems getting it to work properly. Take the image below for example. What I would like to do is replace the white with a different color. Instead, it replaces everything else with the new color and leaves the white there. What am I doing wrong here?



** Note, I'm using the Color Replacement Tool, not the Replace Color feature.
