Its funny I've struggled with that myself for the longest time. It always seemed pretty much cut a dry if it fashion the item of clothing is the item to be the focused on. But for the last few years I've seen less and less of that. I spend probably four hours a week reading everything from Italian Vogue to Knitting Monthly and what is obviously an ad for a dress designer all I can see is a blur, I can just about tell the dress is long or short and what colour. So I started contacting the photographers that are shooting this stuff and more and more I would hear, the images is not selling the item of clothing directly but a lifestyle as a package, buy this bag from Louis Vuitton and you could be this person. Now I see a lot of advertising that doesnt even include the item they selling. It seems as if to be saying you want to own this big house and boat in the background buy Louis Vuitton. It makes me laugh but it must obviously work I guess.
